163. Snoopy’s Silly Sports Spectacular

The Nerd did it again, lending his persona to Pat the NES Punk for the 8th Annual NES Marathon.  Seeing as how he goes through the history of this game, including “Donald Duck” as part of the story, and since I had both Donald Duck and Snoopy’s Silly Sports Spectacular on cart, I decided “why not?” and went with the Japanese version for this trial.  If I wanted to get technical, this run was the Japanese WR, but since there’s no way to verify that, I’m content with my 6th place standing (as of my initial submission)

Snoopy’s SSS is basically a collection of mini-games (not really sports to be honest), and the goal is to score as highly as you can to get a medal.  The more points you get, the higher your score!  The most popular category is getting the bronze medal, which is the easiest to get where you don’t technically lose, so that’s what I did.  The speedrun abuses this, skipping the longer events and just focusing on the ones that will either be faster to do, or the ones you must do anyways (like the sack hop).

This is honestly a decent title, and a decent speedrun.  Nothing remarkable here, but also nothing terrible.  A very average and fun way to spend a day or two learning something silly. 😀
